Last two days have been busy milling stock and indexing strips to create a symetrically mirrored pattern. Could not find acceptable trim/feature wood so keeping things simple. It took about 4.5 hours to rip planks (14 per board, 6 boards, 12 ft long). Surprisingly it took almost the same time to get the patterns set down and in a system to get what I was looking for.

I did use a brand new Freud Thin Kerf Rip Blade which is my favorite ripping blade. Believe it is model LU87 – have been using this model for over 20 years now and no complaints. Probably yielded 95% perfect strips with new blade and rip jig. I did cull maybe another 10% when book matching – just didn’t like looks of a few strips.

Believe hardest part of this project done and now just some plank beveling and clamping. Not looking forward to fiberglass stuff, but will reach out to Eastman Boatbuilders as they have lots of stitch and glue fiberglassing and like doing that kind of thing. (I’ll stick to Traditional boatbuilding techniques)
