Have been reviewing blueprints, building instructions, and old class notes. One of my winter objectives is to have the sequencing and critical info needed for Beach Pea right at my fingertips. Transferring the “important” stuff to a 5×7 “write-in-the-rain” notebook that will be my quick reference guide while in shop.

These are a couple of pages for example – probably won’t make a lot of sense if you have never scratch built a boat, but may be a lifesaver  when I need some data and the epoxy is setting up. There will be probably be 25 pages of these kinds of notes. The numbers are not pages, but point back to main index/sequencing. When I get all these done, will create separate post just for documentation, would really suck if house burnt down and I lost all this work.

Garage/Ladder Frame Layout
– building upside down brings a unique set of problems and really screws with your mind sometimes

Stem and Lap landings.
– These are already marked on stems – just need bearding line info before planking starts

Plan layout/Scarfing
– Incredibly easy to screw up these layout –
With Sapele plywood $200+ per sheet, best to have your act together

Mirror Image of Port Side Planking
– In heat of setting epoxy very easy to cut either scarfs, rabbets, or swap bow for stern.

Geoff Kerrs @ WBS Beachpea Breasthook
– Much different than Hylan, but I will probably use Kerrs approach as a bit easier to implement
