Spent the past week glueing up (epoxy) Inner/Outer stems for Bow/Stern Beach Pea build. Was able to use the old fire house at South Cove as it is heated and they (Eastman Boat Building Club – “EBC”) didn’t mind. Temp’s dropped and now all progress put on hold until late March or so.
Here’s a link to Stem Jig etc…
Tried to get the EBC leader (JL) to let me build the molds (I would teach them how) in their heated and unused space but… no sense arguing with people who put boat kits together and call themselves “boat builders”. Kind of like building a model airplane kit and calling yourself an Aeronautical Engineer. Over the past 4 years I’ve offered them “how to” guidance on lofting, half-model building, basic design and reading plans +… Didn’t work on this years project as it was another Swifty kit boat of which hold no interest for me.
At least I got these done which gives me bit of a head start for next spring.
