Decided to change my plans and built a dedicated support/cradle/strongback assembly (want to keep my regular workbench available for other projects this summer). Used my old Beach Pea ladder frame that was sitting in garage loft gathering dust. I also needed another extension for tablesaw ripping of strips so set height same as saw – maybe too tall for most but works perfect for me.

Jarvis mostly followed but corrected length, built a much stronger box and added feet that were installed after everything straight, level, and true. Strongback can come off like Jarvis idea, but wanted a better solution.

Thought about making “flippable” cradles that would reference a particular station and in one position it would hold board “bottoms-up” to work/plane/glass that surface and by simply rotating same cradle, it would hold board “tops-up” to work that surface. Took a bit of time to work the math but believe they will work nicely. Jarvis makes his top removable instead of this approach.

Next step is ripping about 70 strips (1/4 x 1 inch x 12ft). That will be a 2 person job and can’t be done when raining – should get to it later this week. After that, things will go pretty fast – at least until epoxy/fiberglass phase.
