Got majority of the planking stock – just need some cherry or walnut for feature strips. White Pine from Goosebay few days ago. Thought I could just grab some cherry from Baker but really disapointed in their quality of wood – won’t be going there again. Did look at some Yellow Birch, nice but crazy heavy.
Strongback pretty much done, as soon weather gets better will mill strips and set-up “Fishbone” for glueing. Paddleboard builders use unusual terminology i.e. Center Spine, Fishbone, etc… They also number stations backwards compared to Wooden Boat builders. Some of Jarvis build guidence is not really solid, so will just use my personall experience – no way am I using Gorilla Glue (or hot melt glue for structure). My builder buddies would never let me live that down!
