It is almost 40-degrees outside so decided to make some headway with stems. They have been inside house staying warm so epoxy can fully cure. Set up sawhorses and used my good old DeWalt planer to mill down to sided dimensions – not going to bevel yet.

Fully cured lams – have been in man cave about 2 weeks now.

Flattening one side so I can use planner.
That’s my new Veritas #4 and it works great.

Scraping off excess epoxy. Heat gun and Baco Carbide scrapper make this a piece of cake.

Everything brought down to 1 3/4 in.

All milled up.
Inners -Sided 1 3/4 in, Outers – Sided 1 1/2 in.
Custom storage rack.

Stems in their winter storage location.
Going to be a long time till they get more work done.

Looking forward to next summer so I can use some of those rods in the Atlantic chasing Bluefish, Stripers, and Tuna. Beach Pea should open up some new waters for me since I sold my Boston Whaler.
